Highlights for CCA's Upcoming Annual Convention
The Colorado Cattlemen's Association (CCA) will be hosting its 2019 Annual Convention in Steamboat Springs from Monday, June 17 to Wednesday, June 19. This year's convention will include a variety of social events, committee meetings, educational opportunities, etc.
Here's a quick look at some of the great highlights you can look forward to...
Policy Discussion: CCA's Steering Committees will meet on Monday and Tuesday and will be covering hot-button topics like wolf and bison introduction, fake meat and dietary guidelines, emerging DNA tools, recreational leases on state lands, impacts of SB-181 on rural communities, the Green New Deal, and more!
 Education: This year's convention will highlight CCA's vision of "Advancing the Legacy" of Colorado's ranching industry. Tuesday will feature a panel of producers with heavy experience in different ways of succession planning whether it's through family, unrelated young producers, employees, etc. Then, Dr. Ryan Rhoades from CSU will cover the new Ranch Benchmarking program that will allow producers to compare their operations to state averages and improve their own practices. Tim Belber and Cliff Polk, two estate/succession planning experts, will provide a presentation on Developing Your Transformational Generational Wealth later that afternoon.
 And Just For Fun: The week will feature several catered meals, including "Steak Town, USA," an outdoor party and banquet at the base of the mountain! Of course, there will also be the legendary Trade Show filled with numerous vendors and fun shopping. This will also be the first year CCA is hosting a food drive at its convention for LiftUp, an organization that provides emergency assistance for unemployed and impoverished families and individuals in the local Routt County area! And if you run out of things to do at the convention (which we can hardly imagine!), the historic town of Steamboat Springs has everything to offer from breweries/restaurants, hiking/biking, museums, shopping, and much more!
